Kendriya Vidyalaya, Meghahatuburu was established in the Project sector in the year 1976. It functioned at HRD Centre of Meghahatuburu Iron Ore Mine   before being shifted to present building on 12 February 1982.
It has  37 class rooms , Computer,  Chemistry , Biology, Physics & Math's Lab .Primary  Resource room, Junior Science Lab, Teaching Aid room, Music Room ,Sports room, Library, CCA Hall Etc. Separate rooms are for Principal , Vice-Principal , Head Master , Primary Staff Room & Secondary  Staff Room. At present 100% Quarter facilities are available for  all staff members.

The present student strength of the Vidyalaya is 1401 & the strength of the staff members stands at 40. The school provides education from Pre-Primary ,class I to XII with  science, Humanities  and Commerce streams at +2 level. The school is affiliated with CBSE Board , New Delhi.
